Amitabha Prayer Festival
(Nov 13-20, 2016)

Our teacher, Hungkar Rinpoche, will lead the Amitabha Prayer Festival at Longen Monastery from November 13 to November 20, 2016. All Dharma friends in the ten directions can participate through their motivation and by their repetition of the Amitabha mantra.

The closing ceremony is on the Lha Bab Duchen day (The 22nd of the 9th month of Tibetan calendar, Nov 20, 2016 Western calendar), the day the Buddha Shakyamuni’s Descent from the heaven of 33. It is said that the effects of positive or negative actions are multiplied 100 million times, so practice is strongly advised.

The Lha Bab Duchen day is one of the four Buddha days of the year, the effects of positive or negative actions are multiplied 100 million times:

  1. Chotrul Düchen: Day of Miracles (The 15th of the 1st Tibetan month)
  2. Saka Dawa Düchen: Buddha Shakyamuni’s Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana Saka Dawa Duchen (The 15th of the 4th Tibetan month)
  3. Chökhor Düchen: First Turning of the Wheel of Dharma (The 4th of the 6th Tibetan month)
  4. Lha Bab Düchen: Buddha Shakyamuni’s Descent from the Heaven of 33 (The 22nd of the 9th Tibetan month)
